Conquest Control Head

Post by Pendle »

The plastic (bakelite?) rotor in the control head of my DJ252 is broken. I have twice attempted repair using a "superglue". The repair seems sound when made, and in each case has held for a few months before breaking again. Can anyone advise on a glue type or repair technique.

Thank you

Not quite sure what you mean by the "rotor" or control head. Do you mean the indicator unit in the centre of the steering wheel?

Sorry for the lack of clarity - I mean the plastic piece which is attached to the metal indicator lever; the piece which activates the indicator switch contacts.

Hi,

Have you tried 'Araldite'. The 24hr curing type is really strong and it may allow you to build up the join to increase the strength of the damaged joint. Always assuming that it is available over there.
