Hi
There is a cable that is connected to the steering box:
1) what is its purpose
2) how do I remove it as I am trying to get the old wiring loom out of the car..
Thanks

LA 11 Steering box
LA 11 Steering box
It is a Lanchester
Re: LA 11 Steering box
It is for the horn and the indicators. You will find detailed information on the internet , probably on the old forum if not elsewhere, on how to deal with this in detail.
My suggestion would be, at this stage, to find the junction box the four wires are connected to and disconnect it there. If the insulation through the stator tube is ok and the indicator and horn switches are also working then that wiring can be replaced separately once the rest of the loom has been sorted out. That's just a suggestion from years of giving myself extra work. The stator tube wiring doesn't come with a replacement loom but a replacement can be made from thin wall 4 core cable. Proprietory replacements can also be bought at a cost.
