some people assume that the LJ 200 has an alloy head as well, being a "4 cylinder Conquest" - but it doesn't. It has an iron head.

On the subject of core plugs, some time ago I found the above site .
I worked out what sizes I didn't have and sent for two of each to have on the shelf. The largest they have is 2 3/4" I think in imperial sizes. Whether that's big enough for this particular head, I don't know.
When I sent for them, I placed an order at about 7.00pm and they arrived in the next post. Super almost unheard of service these days.
without walking over to the garage I would say the big plugs on this model are about 2 1/2 " . I know the firm doing the rebuild had never seen anything that big before.

The engine in the LJ is actually a "Four Cylinder Regency 3 Litre" and bears no resemblance whatsoever to the Conquest engine (well apart from it has pistons, valves, water pump..............etc etc  ), which was a totally new design.

The 6 Cylinder engine from which it was derived was from the Regency. It was 3 litres, so the LJ is 2/3 of that, ie, 2 litres. :D
