Re: Lanchester 12/6 engine with compressor

Post by Culbu »

Hello,

I talked this morning to a classic cars mechanic and engineer, specialised in race cars. His job is to adapt the different parts of the engine (crankshaft, piston, connecting rods, valves, cylinder head, supercharger, etc...) to increase the power of the engine. His main "patients" are Amilcar, Riley, Bentley, and of course Bugatti !

When I asked if it was possible according to him to fit a supercharger on a Lanchester 6 or 4 cylinders engine, he answered : Do you know if an englishman has already to do it ? I said I don't know but I don't think so. He said so don't do it. As soon as it's possible to fit a supercharger, the English people do it. If they didn't, don't do it !!

I will follow his and your advices !

End of this topic. Thanks.
