Lanchester La11 Sun Roof

I am in the process of fitting the sun roof on my LA11.

I want to paint the wood where the sunroof recesses, so that any water just drains away via the corner drain holes. I am not sure what paint to use, rubberised or epoxy paint.

Any ideas?

Thanks Steve

Hi Steve
, need to check my Database to confirm the year of your Lanchester ,
Well for some strange reason ,I seem to have omitted to put the details of your Lanchester ??
Perhaps you would be kind enough to send them to me Steve, so that I sm able to rectify this misnomer ?
I will then be able to answer your question about your roof.
Mine as you know is a 1937 model and has a fabric Roof ,like this:

The Gutters with this type of Roof are covered with the Roof material .

Hi Al,
1939 LA11

FXM 747

From the pictures it looks like their is a material covering the wood rather than some sort of resin/paint.

Thanks for your reply

Hi Steve , that because my Lanchester was produced in 1937, and the expanded Metal Roof was covered in Rexine ( Well it was when new) yours being the 1939 model, has an all steel Roof , so yes , the channels on your car should indeed be painted.

Cheers Al :D
