What is the oil I should use for the differential, on my 1939 Lanchester La11

it has to be this type not what you buy as your normal gear oil hypo attacks the bronze causing wear .

GL4 type diff oil is fine, but GL5 will attack bronze and seals.
If your transmission is NON-HYPOID then you need a GL1 spec oil; Penrite Transoil 90 is a good example of GL1 as is Millers Vintage Green Gear Oil 140.
Depends on which viscosity you want to go for. Most owners with a noisy or a slightly worn diff tend to go 140.
I know Pennine Oils and have to say there is better out there - just my opinion and experience.

Hi, I’ve actually got a mixture of SAE 140 & SAE 250 in my rear Axle, it just helpes reduce noise on the overrun .
