A job for the next years

Hello all
My english is not better, but I'll try to show you what I do with my 1936 LA10.
It is now in what will be the workshop
Interior and floor are away for chassis to be painted
The parts are refurbished after dismantled, waiting for refitting
One part is missing. I'll have to refabric a shock absorber rod link

Hello Lohm,
I wish you well with your project. Your pictures bring back memories of three years ago when I fell for an AC in a similar state and I am still on with now. I hope you are lucky and the body is in good enough condition that you can retrieve it without too many problems. Sadly mine was rotten to the core and needed a complete new body.
Don’t worry about your English it is more than good enough to be understood.

Looks in fairly good condition compared to some projects I've seen in the past.

Yes it is.
Very little rotten wood, the chassis is in very good condition only superficial rust, as the metal body.
I don't had a look to the engine and gearbox, but the steering and brakes are OK.
The difficult for me, is that I have no user manual, no workshop manual, no electrical diagram, so it take a long time to understand how it works.
For example, It take me one day to understand how the dipping reflectors where operated. Now I know everything on these, but what a wasted time

Before disassembling my steering box, someone could tell me the type of seal found behind the arrow.

Good evening lomh 13,
it is a feltwasher seal you will find there. As it is an unreliable sealing part which is permanentely leaking, we've changed it against a modern shaft seal. Since then the steering box isn't leaking anylonger with the filled in SAE 140 oil without EP additives.

You have to bore out the seat in a diameter of 30 millimeters and 9 millimeters in depth. Then you can fit a 20x30x7 millimeter shaft seal.

Your car looks like a great project.
DLOC members can obtain spare parts and catalogues as a digital download free of charge.
It’s well worth asking for copies to help you along.
Occasionally original copies come up for sale but they are getting expensive and you wouldn’t want to spoil one with oily finger prints.
