LA14 Front bumper brackets
LA14 Front bumper brackets
I recently had reason to remove the front bumper on my LA14 road rider and was surprised to find that there was a lot of 'pent up' energy, as the bumper unloaded itself. A more careful inspection of the mounting brackets showed that the front mounts had been mounted on the outer part of the chassis legs. This resulted in the centre two holes for the bumper being approximately 110 mm apart, when they needed to be approximately 70 mm apart. The other giveaway was that the mounts were not sitting in the centre of the cutouts in the front wings. After removing the mounts and fitting them inboard, the holes in the bumper aligned and refitting the bumper was easier than taking it off! I have added some before and after pictures - which will probably make more sense than the above text.
