Did you get those ring spanners Neil? I couldn't think of a way to do it without them unless you have double jointed fingers eight inches long! ;)

Actually having been underneath mine today to retrieve the lost spanner, the lower manifold nuts look pretty accessible from below. It could be another option Neil?
