Hood suppliers

Post by Alan Hill »

I’m in the Market for a new hood for the Dart. I’ve had a number of quotes but the most competitive so far is from ‘All-hoods’. Has anyone used them?

my car had one missing so had to buy new.
It was £350 and a good replica - the hood frames hoops are oval as per the original.
It took a few weeks to come but fitted.

Sorry for the confusion but in this Topic I’m questioning Suppliers of the Hood and not the Frame.
I’m glad you had a good result with Sportscarmetalwork. Sadly, I can’t say I’ve had the same experience as I had to return two petrol tanks; both leaked and on one the filler tube was badly aligned.

I got a Dart Hood some time ago from Don Hoods in Birmingham.
They were the cheapest by far at the time but it fitted and has lasted well and looks pretty original.

It is Premium Quality Vinyl [Ever-flex] and available in a range of colours, they also did Double Duck and Mohair etc.
If/when I need another I would/will go there again.

I recently needed a new hood for my SP250 and acquired mine from Aldridge Trimming Ltd

Aldridge Trimming Ltd

I found them to be easy to deal with and happy to ship overseas. Dan Austin was the person I dealt with. I believe that the hood and envelope came in at around 480 GBP (before shipping and without VAT). The hood seems to fit well and we will have to see how well it holds up over time.
