Identification help needed

Post by formulakoala »

I recently acquired this car as a 51 Chrysler Demler. After several hours of searching I believe I have determined it to be a 51 Daimler DB18 Consort. Can anyone tell me for sure what it is?

Another sad case. What a pity a good saloon destroyed.

Can you find a chassis number - on the bulkhead
It will look like this:

Graham Emmett ¦ DLOC Chairman ¦ chair@dloc.co.uk ¦ 07967 109160
Northwich, Cheshire
DB18 1949 LCV522 (Yes that one with the P100s)

Don't worry I am putting this beauty back on the road soon. It may not be restored all original but at least it will be better than rotting in a field or going to the crusher. They pretty much gutted this car, so there are no identification tags at all.

It would be good to see it back running in some form. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Have you checked for the chassis number on the chassis itself - should be close to the steering box? ~ John R

If you wnT to go to the trouble and expense the NSW Daimler Club has a complete bonnet and front guards in store which could be used to make the front end look like it used to.
They were a good looking saloon, so you could do worse than keep the front looking authentic.
Lots of photos on the web to give you an idea.

There are no identification tags on the car.

Can you give me a link for that club? I am wanting to find a grille, lights, and mirrors to put back on it. Maybe even the bumpers.

Hi,
Just google Daimler & Lanchester Owners Club of Australia.
You can email us from addresses listed.
The big issue will be the cost of packaging and shipping to you from Australia.
Cheers
