SP250 Rubber Gear stick boot
Are there any options out there to replace my oringial rubber gearstick boot?
Re: SP250 Rubber Gear stick boot
Hello Reedweaver
I thought someone else might have commented on your request, and in light of that maybe I have got it wrong, but with all the 3 SPs I have known, none have had a rubber gear lever boot as original spec., rather just a leather trim tepee type construction that fits to the top lip of the gearbox tunnel.

If you mean the knob at the top then Barry Thorne or manners have them.
If you mean the gaiter that raises from the carpet then they are originally leather and any trimmer could make and fit as required.
If you have some form of rubber replacement that someone has fit and want to copy it then a van scrapyard may be worth a try as that is generally all that the rubber gaiters have been used on for years. Failing that then a plant suppliers may have something from a JCB or Caterpiller.

Interesting to know about the rubber not being standard. It looks a little like the picture below...

This is not the best shot, but the original would have looked something like this....
Bryan Purves sells them ready made for around £20......
I guess you can specify the colour you want.
