daimler brakes

Post by carolsweddingcars.co.uk »

i wonder if any of you wiser than me guys can help please
i have a daimler ds420 1992 limousine and am having a problem with the brakes
the pedal occasionaly goes long almost to the floor if you pump the pedal the pedal returns to normal and can last weeks until it happens again.
i have changed the master cylinder and brake fluid to try and cure this fault but it is still exactly the same.
if anyone has had a similar problem i would appreciate a little advice info@carolsweddingcars.co.uk

Sounds like a sticking calliper piston that doesn't return after release. Look out for one wheel hub that gets warmer than the others on the fronts, any pull on steering? Difficult to assess rears though as inboard but disc may look a bit blued?
Otherwise, could be a servo piston sticking.
I'm no expert but would consider these strong contenders.
