Regency MKII DF304

Post by dtaylo30 »

Does anyone have bumper overriders for this model that they would be willing to sell?
Need both front and rear if possible.
Many thanks for any help you can give.

David,

I am not an expert on these cars, but wanted to help anyway.

Firstly, are the over-riders missing or in a poor state ?

If missing then you need replacements. To me they would be for a fluted bumper, so I'd widen my search by carefully comparing to the 104 and Majestic/Major
items - and then widen again to consider the Jaguars of the same era that used a very similar fluted profile.

(sit is often the case that car makers will use same tooling /. same parts to save on tooling costs, and as Daimler made such low volumes this makes lost of sense).

Either by finding local cars, or going to a car show or 2, then advertise -and of course search E-bay etc (I have seen new Jaguar parts advertised in the past.

Put an advert in the Driving Member, and contact those who have parts,,

Dont forget to let us know your progress.

Thanks very much for your post.
I do have all the overriders but unfortunately all but one have dents in them.
Currently the rear ones are off the car and with a specialist who can repair them but it is quite a task.
So I was just thinking that if any were available it could be an option.

David,

I have just had a set of over-riders prepared for chroming for our Special Sports. This is a panel-beating task, involving removing the attachment plate at the back,
panel beating to shape, then welding the plates back in.

Cost was very modest, and after chroming, all good.

So, if they are not rusty but dented, have your originals reworked, rather than chase stuff that will still need work (ie not really a cot saving)

Hi David,
Thanks very much for putting me in touch with Michael.
Picked up the over riders, hub caps and a few other bits from him yesterday.

Used this as my email is out of order at the moment.

Regards,
David
