I was really please when I filled my Steering Box with the correct Penrite oil. But not happy with it slowly leaking out of the bottom.

Several people have suggested filling the box with thin grease, not very easy. In fact years ago I had a a Consort on which someone had drilled out the filler cap and fitted a grease nipple in it.

Careful with grease. It must be the correct steering box lube, not just grease as apparently it spirals up the steering column according to our late club guru.
Is Pennrite steering box lube available in England?
That is what I have been using and it seems to be very good.

Got on the ramp and most jobs done - back brakes adjusted (had to free adjusters - what a sweat) I was in an auto shop with every tool under the sun and eventually had to do it with an adjustable and a hollow bar as an extender.
Could not spend any time on the Dampers - but someone said you need to take them off to top them up!
However, is it:-
1) possible to do with the wheels off?
2) worth the effort - not knowing how full/empty they are?
As ever any guidance most helpful

It's only 3 nuts/ bolts, far easier to do off the car. Besides while they are off you could drain and refill they only hold about half a litre between them. You don't need a ramp, just jack it up and take the wheel off.
