Dear Al,

Is it an AC or Smiths unit ? If the former, they are a bit thin on the ground (you know that already though!) but I suppose there are two options. Would something like this :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GM-AC-DELCO- ... SwB09YCq8K

be of use ? Failing that, it might be possible to find a Smiths type unit that would do the same job.

Again, if it's an AC unit, the mechanical parts of it, apart from casing damage, should be fixable so I'm assuming it's an electrical fault. I wonder if it would be possible to have the resistance rewound if you want to maintain originality. Not maybe the best of answers but in the absence of others, at leaast maybe a start.

Should it be a Smiths one, I have some suggestions on alternative units but it runs in my head your car has AC components, maybe wrongly remembered by me.

Hi Simon, thanks for that link, I did send off for one but unfortunately it was no good so had to return it.
My Sender is actually currently ( Has been for about a month now)at a company named Carwood, who specialise in Rewindโ€™s etc.
One of the older employees is / was hoping to repair it for me, trouble is, that he is semi retired, so only goes in a couple of days a week .
Yes the Gauges are all AC , but not sure about the Sender, although it probably is, but as said , I donโ€™t have to hand at the moment, not sure if a Smiths Petrol Gauge would fit into my existing Gauge binnacle.
Just have wait and see what turns up ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

Cheers Al

Thank's Marcel, at the moment my sender Unit is with a local company named Carwood who carry out all types of Armature winding , there is an older employee who is taking a look at it, if he is unable to rectify it ,then I will certainly contact David Beals.

Best wishes, and many thanks Al :) :)
