Door alignment pins or Door snubbers

Post by Zbigmak »

Can anyone help me? I am looking for the two (2) Door alignment pins or from what I understand sometimes called Door snubbers which help to align the door closure on a B type Daimler Dart. From what I understand these little devices also helped prevent the doors from popping open. I need the female part which is mounted to the B pillar – for both sides. I have the male part which is screwed onto the side of the door.

I have raised this with Laurence Jones and Bryan Purves. If there is sufficient interest Bryan Purves may produce some but they are complicated and may be expensive.

Suggest call Bryan Purves and register your interest.

I seem to remember they are not peculiar to the SP.
Owner since the 70's, Genghis is slightly to my left.

So I have contacted Brian and attached is his reply:

Door locators … I have no idea where you could find these ! I know there is a demand for the male and the female parts but to manufacture is going to be quite expensive due to the work that is involved in the female part. I have been down this route several years ago.

So I am still in the market for second hand female parts. Does anyone have any or know of someone breaking a dart?
Are they fitted to any other cars?

George
