Post by JT7196 »

Hi Chaps , I shalll be embarking on the removal of an Engine from a 1934 LA10 soon, does the Steering Box need to be removed first ? Any other tips greatly appreciated :D :D :D

Cheers Al

Hi Chaps, I really can’t believe that considering the amount of LA 10’s on the road, that there’s nobody out there who has experience on removing an Engine ??
so any help/ Tips would be most welcome .

Cheers Al😀

Ps, the Engine in my LA 11 is absolutely awesome !!She goes better now than ever, especially with that SU conversion, I’m now a very happy Bunny indeed !! 😃😃😃😄

Alan, I have found the best method is to drop the gearbox and this enables you to manipulate the engine past the steering box.
On my later LA10 with the 1444cc engine it is very tight .You will have more room with the 1203 engine, Good luck Frenchy

Hi Dave, yes I have to agree that dropping the Gearbox looks like the best option
so will be doing exactly that !!
cheers Al 😊
