1968 Daimler 250 V8 Automatic
In my role as the Herts Region Secretary, I've received this email from the son of a member who has passed away: Hi John My name is Nick Pritchard and I am the son of Geoffrey Pritchard who was a member of the DLOC with his 1968 Daimler V8 - SGU 956F. Sadly he passed away in October 2022. We still h...

Also,
just check that the motor is rotating the correct way to suit the fan blade profile - they are "suck" or "blow" , depending on where you want to fit it, and you may need to switch the connections over for +ve earth to get the direction correct.

Re: Rare Spares?
I have a recollection, from when I was restoring my SP, that the entire TR6 front suspension could be used wth benefits for improved castor, but that the TR hubs had to be used as the hub spindle for the SP is a larger diameter. If Daimlersteve reads this he may chip in with some info........ Anyone...

Re: SP250 braking system
Hi Hans, Could those actually be rear disks that have been fitted to the front? (I don't know if the offsets would match....) They have the wire anti-squeal ring fitted I think, and I haven't come across many other cars with those other than the SP. Maybe done because front disks weren't available w...

Re: Electrical puzzle on V8 saloon
Hi Howard, There's nothing much different between these flasher units - usually it's just whether they have built in mounting bracket or not.... If yours has a bracket, I'd probably suggest one of these ( the replica one IS better quality!) https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/p/lucas-sfb105-flash...

Re: Electrical puzzle on V8 saloon
Howard, I wonder if you may have misread the wiring diagram, as I've always understood the connections to be - L is for LOAD (lamps), P is for PANEL (warning lamps), X or B is for SUPPLY (Battery). Connecting to P should have no effect, as that is a contact that "makes" between X/B and P w...

Re: Electrical puzzle on V8 saloon
Hii Howard, When you say only 2 connections are in use on the flasher unit, has it always been like that? From my (admittedly Mk2 Jag, not V8) wiring diagram, the main indicator lamps woulld normally be fed from the third terminal, via a LG wire to the indicator switch, keeping the dash lamps indepe...
