Re: Seat belts in ash framed vehicle?

Thanks John, i thought of using a cargo strap ( a bit basic) to secure my dad in the front seat, as folks with dementia can enjoy the view but not always understand the risks with being a passenger etc, my v8 has seat belts so no issues with that. i will find a solution, as he comes in the garage wh...

Re: Seat belts in ash framed vehicle?

Hi Syd, yes the question a bit vague i know, if i was the only person i would leave as is, but my father wanted to ride again in a lanchester as he did many years ago in the 40's, and it's not an easy answer to a question, as the seats are not like modern ones and you could slip out of them if the p...

Re: Seat belts in ash framed vehicle?

Thanks, i have done some research and some say ok and some not ok, some say not on the chassis but on the wood floor/members using plates etc, which would restrain you but have some "give" in the event of a collision etc. and lap belts would probably be the only type you could fit albeit t...

Seat belts in ash framed vehicle?

Hi all, as to the question, has anybody done this albeit the belts would be a simple lap belt, as the b posts are ash as far as i know, as i'm now restarting my resto of my 11 after about 7 years of other issues which i won't bore folks with, and have started to rebuild the rear deck area around the...

Re: What model daimler is this?

Yes I saw the Cortina mk2 there and assumed it was a Daimler shot with VL, don't know if she owned the car or it was just a casual pic? still with us and my dad remembers her film career well.

Re: V8 saloon coolant circulation

Hi, it might just be sediment laying in the block, if in doubt remove all core plugs and drain cocks and flood it with water from a hosepipe and prod with some firm wire around the cylinder jackets and let it run clear as I did this on my V8 and a lot of crud came out of the block but the engine was...
