Parking in Prague
I recently took my SP on a trip to Prague, to make the most of the last of the summer sunshine, and to see how it performed and how comfortable it would be on its first long trip. I am happy to say that it behaved faultlessly, was more comfortable than my daily driver and received a lot of attention...

Re: Flexolite spin on filter conversion
I relocated mine to the inner wing, using a kit supplied by Flexolite. The only issue I had with it was a leak after fitting and, after laying a military style smokescreen down the motorway, I found that there was some flashing on the outlet from the filter head they supplied which meant that the co...

Re: Alternate Gear Change Selector
Hi, Joe. I am told that these will all fit with only the thread needing to be recut for the gear knob. I have no first hand knowledge, though I am looking for a second hand TR4 selector with a bend to bring the knob nearer to me. https://www.revingtontr.com/product/143624sh/name/gear-lever-tr4a-seco...

Re: Oil pressure gauge
Slightly off-topic re. the original post, but relevant to bleeding an oil gauge, I found this on MGAguru.com: https://mgaguru.com/mgtech/dash/dt104.htm

Re: Oil pressure gauge
Ian, while I understand why you say that air will have no effect, and I do not believe it should, my personal experience is that if the tube is not bled (and there is a small hole in the connection on mine to facilitate bleeding) then the gauge can give faulty readings. The instructions with new gau...

Re: SP250 veritcal links being made
Not quite, Syd. I think you forget the cost of the materials to make the uprights and machining work afterwards to get the castings into a useable state. Plus, David Manners price a few years back was £300 to recondition an old one plus £1000 deposit if yours was not usable, ie £1300 each. Perhaps n...

Re: V8-250 Saloon: LED's & HT Leads
Hi, Richard. My SP250 had an irritating misfire above 4,500 rpm and I was advised that the solid-core ignition leads may have been the culprits. Changed to a set of Magnecor leads and the misfire is gone AND the EMI/RFI that was affecting the flasher unit is also history, so that problem is solved. ...
