LD10 Thermostat cover - top hose connection

Post by mikemillen »

Does anyone have a thermostat cover (top hose connection) for an LD10 please?

Alternatively, can you suggest where I might look?

Many thanks,
Mike

Thanks, but that's for a Lanchester 10... the LD10 housing is a short vertical one.

As the car is sitting out enjoying the sunshine, here's a couple of pictures. I make the distance between the fixing hole centres to be about 80mm and the total height of the casting to be about 3 inches. Sorry for the different units of measurement but they were the closest round numbers I could see on the rule !

Thanks for the pics, Simon.

That's exactly the part I need.

I believe David Beales has something lined up for you but failing that I am sure that I can make you something suitable.

Thanks, Gents, but I've managed to effect a pretty good repair with JB Weld.
Even with the hole in the side, the top hose covered it and didn't leak, so now with a layer of JB Weld all around the inside (and filling the hole, of course) I think it's got years more life in it.
Incidentally, prior to the JB Weld I thoroughly cleaned it and painted, inside and out, with Flag Rust Converter paint, and now it looks quite smart.
Apparently Flag is designed for boat hulls and is well-regarded by mariners, so it should be fine on the Lanchester.
