Rover 90 Drophead
Year: 1954
Vehicle Registration: RNX 10
Chassis Number: 45300908
Engine Number: 45301679
Engine Size: 2638cc
This Rover 90 was produced in 1954.

Pininfarina had created two cars based on the Rover P4. a drophead and a fixed head coupe.
Whilst impressed with the farina design The experimental department at Rover commissioned Mulliner Company to investigate the possibility of producing a similar car and Mulliner duly presented the company with the above car which was put to exclusive use within the company fleet.
Mulliner actually produced two examples, the one above was eventually sold to a Dr. Paul Sherwood on the 5th January 1955.

Why ever did they not go in to production?! They could have sold 1000s of them!!!!!
Thanks for the history lesson, Darren. Most informative.

The write up on the side of the car said it was too dear to put into production. It certainly was a smashing looking car though.

Nick
"Nick - do you think you will ever put that old car back together again?"
