Castings (various).

Post by Marcel Renshaw »

I have been informed by the foundry that from the new tax year there will be a 6% increase in cost for the castings produced.
I have a limited number of castings which will still be available at the old price but unfortunately future production will need to reflect the increase. I will also make adjustments for the increased cost of other components made by external suppliers and also for the increase in the cost of electricity and fuel used whilst making them.
Many of the castings that I produce have been kept at the same price for several years and have only covered set up costs and the cost of brought in materials just to try and keep as many Daimler’s and Lanchester’s going.
There are still many pre war cars that don’t get much spares back up especially in terms of castings and water pumps and I still hope to fill some of those needs if anyone has any suggestions. The only criteria being that it will need to have enough demand to cover cost.
Generally 10 castings makes for a fair price but more obviously enables for a lower one.

Hello Marcel,

Do you have a list of all your available castings ??

The reason I ask is that not everyone will be aware as to what is on offer; by doing so, it may also promote additional purchase interest along with new direction enquiries in respect of the vehicles you mention.

Best wishes.

Richard.

Thanks Marcel.

Off the top of your head - very impressive !!

Is that list available via the club website, as a stand alone document or highlighted in the various model pages respectively ??

Regards.

I think nearly all of them have been added to the forum as they joined the family of parts.
All are on eBay but obviously often cheaper if the buyer contacts me directly.
I knew that I would forget at least one.
Daimler 15 / Lanchester 10 wheel nuts.
Daimler 15 rocker cover (screw in filler cap type).

I know this was a list of castings but it’s also useful to know you supplied Lanchester 15/18 tapper adjusters. Regards Ranald

Would you have a thermostat housing (cover) for an LD10, by any chance?
Or know where I might find one?

Thanks,
Mike

I haven’t been asked for one previously, do you have a picture?
Occasionally a casting is used on a number of cars.
David Beales has a number of castings.
Having had a look at the parts catalogue it looks like it goes straight up like the SP250 ( Daimler Dart) but I can’t be certain.
