Daimler DE27 LIMOUSINE HRH queen mothers car
sir Bernard dockers car from new, unbelievable history
£14,995.00

What a piece of British motoring history we have here, one of the earliest production post war cars off the line, original supporting documentation and build sheets from HOOPER AND CO coach builders, and letters stating that this car in particular belonged to SIR BERNARD DOCKER of the DAIMLER MOTOR COMPANY AND BSA COMPANY, Before going to ROSSLEIGH MOTORS of EDINBURGH to be put on ROYAL DUTY for HRH QUEEN MOTHER with supporting documentation to prove, and photos etc, When on duty the cars Number plate was SF1 ,Then onto 5305SF after royal duties, this car being a particular favourite of the queens. amazing history with this car with all detailed paperwork, rare opportunity to own a piece of history

Hi Graham,
Would that car then be the one the was sent along to augment the DE36's on the South African Tour in 1947?
I checked the books a while back and it was held at Rossleigh Motors and used when The Queen Mother was in town, but not sure how often or for how long.
Still a nice piece of Royal Motoring History.
Cheers and best wishes to everyone in the face of this horrible Pandemic.

Was on reg SF1 owned by "Sleigh Chauffeur Hire Edinburgh" and used for Royal duty in Edinburgh.
There was also another car based at Balmoral it was donated to Alford Motor Museum, Aberdeenshire.

Some info on the DE36 at Grampian Transport Museum.
It was one of a pair, chassis No 51740 ordered by King George V1 Sept 1948 delivered by Stratstone June 1949.
Mileage 1952 was 13,175 used by Queen until 1960 mileage was 41,083. Car then went to Government House Queensland, Aus.
Brought back to UK by JDHT in 1988 after private ownership in Australia.
The Landaulette hood became power operated in 1956.
The car was moved from Balmoral to the Museum so when it came back to uk by JDHT did it go back Balmoral again?

Ron.
