De27

Post by Marcus »

Hi, any forum members bidding on this de27?
I put a bid in at 1000 as it seemed too cheap to see it broken up for parts.
Not much detail in the listing but someone may recognise it.

It was pulled out at the last minute, stuck around £2,350 for some days then was removed as no longer available, in other words it looked like it might go far too cheap. Syd

shame that it seems to be in the hands of those that think anything old is worth a fortune....

It's a very big motor and not everyone has space for such a large car which limits the attraction, beside the value has not been helped by all that dismantling. As you say Marcus, some do think they own a pot of gold just because it has some age and size.

It will make a nice car for someone but the cost of making it good will not be cheap, especially as most would want to repaint the white panels. Syd

The following information was supplied by the Welsh E20 wizard, worth noting for historic reasons.

The car is MWJ281 (chassis no.D51074), the coachwork being by Hooper & Co. The car was offered for sale by Bonhams in December 2018 (Lot 102), but after that, I have no idea where it has been.

Thanks Dave.
