It's not a Consort ("Consort" is a DB18 "facelift"). The front-end bodywork is very different between the original DB18 and the "facelift", and minor difference on the boot area too. If the engine really has been rebuilt then it would be a shame to fit an electric motor instead. I'm surprised it only reached £1,079 last time and more surprised that the winning bidder didn't follow up because, if I were after a DB18 that's not a "facelift" Consort and is restorable, then £1,000 is a decent price.

No, I have it. It’ll be a valuable source of spare parts.

Hi Graham,
I hope it turns out to have been a worthwhile buy.
I am always amazed how well the interior of the cars that are in your part of the world survive (damp problems aside). the front seats look to be in really good condition.
The engine looks cared for as well.
An enthusiast here has taken a poor Consort and created a drop head that looks very much like an ALvis of the same era.
Not something I could ever do but not dissimilar in philosophy to the DB 18 Drophead produced by Mulliners or its competitors for Daimler.
Cheers from a locked down Sydney. Warm and sunny today, I must get my leash and take myself out for a walk!

Hi Peter
Well I have customers for the engine, gearbox and steering column so I should cover costs. Then there’s all the little bits that are hard to find.

Luckily I have access to a big shed so I can strip it under cover as our summer is appalling.
