V8 250 Prices on the rise?

Post by captain bobo »

In the September issue of Classic Car Mart (why do they publish a month early?) KC2000 Ltd are advertising a V8 250 saloon at £36,995. The small ads in the same edition have a V8 250 on sale at £45,995.

Is it me, or are Daimlers finally venturing into Jaguar Mark 2 price territory?
Best wishes, Dave B

Hello Dave,

I think it is fair to say, that classic vehicle prices are generally on the increase - but certainly not at the rate that some owners and commercial premises think. Such prices are purely aspirational and rarely reflect the true value of the car.

V8 saloon prices have moved up, but they are certainly not in the same category as the Jaguar and never will be.

Regards.

Dave I am not sure if there is a bit of wish full thinking on the part of some of these advertisers as Richards says.

But with lots of collectors things increasing in value and loads of savings sloshing about, now is probably as good a time as any for car values to rise. There certainly seems to be movement lower down the scale even things like Morris 1100's have made good money recently .

Despite its better spec ,leather seats etc the V8 will never reach the heady heights the Jaguars do because they don't have that sporty name. Syd
