Hooper DK 400 For Sale

Post by Peter Grant »

Me again!

Postwar.com has a Hooper bodied DK 400 limousine noted as coming up for auction early September.
I think this car was one of two made for Royal use as an attempt to keep Daimler’s Royal patronage but sadly they ere too little too late.
They ended up with car enthusiast Andrew Pastounas in Germany i think.
Very impressive car: hope it goes to a good and caring home and not just someone out to make a quid on a quick flip.

Hi Folks,
I bought that car you are referring to at RM auctions.
It’s a lovely car in need of a great deal of help.
I thought it was owned by Brian Smith. I will start researching the Andrew Pastouna connection.
If anyone has suggestions on where to get parts or some more history I’d appreciate it.
Thanks
Andrew

Graham,
Any chance I can get in touch with Brian?
I believe he owned this car at one time.
I have a DLOC magazine with the car on the cover and his name as owner. Thanks very much.
Andrew
