Note: I'm advised that this description of the model and engine is not entirely accurate! It is an LA14/2 and 1809cc. As always, buyer beware!

1938 LANCHESTER 14/6 'ROADRIDER' DOCTORS COUPE Motor Car, body by Charlesworth of Birmingham. Registration no: VAS487. 1527ccs straight 6 engine (four stroke) with pre-selector gearbox. This pretty pre-war car is believed to be a rare survivor of the Marque and said to be the only survivor as a doctors coupe by Charlesworth. Built in 1938 it was, as were many cars at that time, laid up at the beginning of WWII in 1939 with just 8000 miles registered. There it is believed to have slumbered until the late 1970s! Subsequently exported to Sweden where it was run by a Deputy Chief of Police for a time, It returned to the UK in 2002 and now has over 60,000 miles recorded. It has had some restoration and judicious expenditure in recent years. It has had little use for a number years and appears to have been last MOT'd in 2013. Engine runs sweetly and the car drives but was trailered from its home in Pembrokeshire where it has occupied a dry heated garage in recent years. Includes a big history file, original maintenance manuals (2) and photographs of work carried out. V5C Document - Estate sale. NOTE: Sold as seen with no warranty or guarantee of any kind, implied or given. Sale of Goods Act 1979 does not apply and is specifically excluded. (B.P. 10% + VAT)

Graham, what a cracking looking car so desirable, but did you notice the little note re additional fees of a whopping 31.14% including VAT?

If you win it for the minimum valuation, look out for a massive £3,750 added to your bill, if you bid it up to £15,000 the fee is £4,650, that can't be fair to either the seller or the buyer, it's enough to put even the most enthusiastic buyer with a bottomless pocket off, how do they justify that.
