cleaning and painting fiberglass

Post by TWF »

Hi, it is my intention to tidy up the engine bay on my SP while the engine is out ,there has been quite a bit of oil getting splashed about so what is it best to use to clean oil from the inner wings etc before painting? Regards ,Terry .

As does this

Used earlier this year on engine bay. Cleaned well and did not affect paint. New paint applied fine.

I'd stick with the marine engineered biodegradable cleaning solutions just because they are used on the painted on board mechanicals surfaces as well as the millions of gelcoat and glass fiber maritime configurations afloat. Use it because we know how much the dock master dislikes those shinny prismatic colored skims floating in his harbor.
