It could be a restrictor valve. My Dart hasn't got one and many others haven't.

The archive forum had a debate about whether this valve is required and I don't think there was a clear answer. One report was that the brakes can jam on where a restrictor valve is used.

Here is a thread from 2020 where the restrictor topic was re-visited:

Manners shows 'out of stock' on this pricey item, but the same as TR3/4:

Both the workshop manual and the spare parts manual identify this as the restrictor valve. As has been discussed many times its function has been questioned. However as you are renewing the brake lines I would suggest keeping the valve where it is as the inlet end (top) is designed to take the flared end of the inlet pipe. The inlet on the five-way union is designed to take the threaded end of the restrictor valve. Then you have the choice of retaining the restrictor valve and allow it to function as per design or if you split the valve you can remove the innards and the valve will act as just another length of brake pipe albeit a very short length.

Have a look on Summit racing Website & only 15 - 20 USD
Quite a few aftermarket brake brands sell these residual pressure valves.
eg Willwood, Summit Racing & available in different pressures
Not to much effort to install
