sp250 front traffic flashers

Post by pflanaga »

Can someone tell me all the components of the front traffic flashers for the SP250?

I have the grille, I will buy the chrome rims, should be able to get the lenses, and I have two lamp receptacles that look about the right size. But there must be more to fit it all together in the grille.

The front indicators do not fit to the grill.

They are mounted to the body of the car, see attached photos'

Thanks Brooksy . So the grille surround where the two holes are go over the flashers.
So I guess I have the flasher mechanism they are just repositioned further to the left and right. I will order lenses and chrome ring. What else is there? Is there a rubber between the chrome finisher and the grille surround?

There is nothing between the indicators and the grill. Fit the indicators complete, the chrome ring holds the glass lens in place, it sits in a rebate in the rubber. Here is a picture of the indicators complete... these are available off ebay.

Well, yes, fibreglass is not a good ground and the lamp body doesn't contact the grill surround and the grill surround isn't earthed either

I much prefer front indicator lights, front flashers conjure up rather unsavoury visions :D

The lights you show in our first picture are rear lights. The fronts are much smaller.

Thanks Steve. I wasnt sure as I have never had the front traffickers. Those were from a jumble of spares I have.
