DB18 Steering Box Type

Post by Hedgie »

Hi All,
I am trying to identfy the type of steering box fitted to my 1950 Daimler DB18 DHC - Chassis Nbr 56049.

I think it may be a Marles Cam and Roller Type box.
The only identifying mark that I can see on the box is on a Copper/Brass plate attached to the point where the steering column enters the steering box. The plate has the lettering:-
"List No"
"30881"

written on it.

A picture of the steering box is attached.

Thanks for your help

Tony, you’re correct. It’s a Marles cam and roller steering box.
