LED Indicators

Post by sp250boy »

Gent's
I need help...
I have fitted a auto sparks wiring loom with the option of having front and rear indicators. I have fitted a flashing indicator bulb in the trafficators and that work extremely well.

I have fitted LED duel colour in the side light and when I use the switch on the steering, the light turns amber but does not flash. The trafficator fires up and flashes away nicely. Not fitted the LED to the rear indicator yet.

Any suggestions apart from getting someone round that knows what they are doing

You need both LED bulbs fitted to make it work.

Hello Steve,

If you are using LED bulbs to act as a flasher, then you will need an LED flasher unit. The normal Lucas flasher bi-metallic unit will not work.

Regards.

I learned this lesson with our Empress as we fitted led bulbs (clear/orange ) in the existing front side-light unit,

First it did as you say, wouldnt flash, so go new cans. No better.

Then led specific cans. I side worked. Swapped cans, other side worked. Finally understood that the cans work one way only) so reversing the wires created the desired effect.

Very pleased with the result ( trafficators for amusement, indicators for safety)
