Almost the same... that's a panel-mount version with a flange.
If I could find the matching 2-pin plug I might be tempted to refit the socket and use it as a battery charging point.

On the other hand, a "cigarette lighter" socket, hidden underneath the dash, would be more convenient for "battery conditioning" chargers and electric foot pumps, etc.

In order to finish off this thread, I've just realised what Simon Hyslop was telling me... the original "Inspection Lamp" sockets are 2 separate sockets, red & black, that are mounted at the extreme left hand side of the dashboard on the bottom lip.

I discovered them today by chance. The 2-pin Bulgin socket mounted on a bracket beneath the centre of the dashboard that I mistook for the connector shown in the Lucas wiring diagram had obviously been added by a previous owner.

Another little mystery solved. :-)
