BSA Front Wheel Drive Aluminium Cylinder Heads

Post by BeezaDaimler »

THIS IS A LAST CALL TO ANYONE THAT WOULD LIKE A NEW ALUMINIUM CYLINDER HEAD FOR THE BSA FRONT WHEEL DRIVE THREE WHEELER 1933 TO 1936

I'm now ready to go ahead with production.

If you own one of these little cars you'll know that the heads are always badly corroded and in most cases become porous after many years of use, as mine did. Even my spare is beyond use and welding them proved fruitless. Yours might be OK now, but when you remove it you will probably find porosity as they corrode badly from the inside out.

The new heads will come machined and ready to fit inc. the four brass spark plug inserts. Price will be around the £550.00 TO £600.00 mark plus VAT each.

A once in a lifetime chance to get yourself a brand new cylinder head cast in modern corrosion resistant aluminium complete with brass spark plug inserts.

Please contact me on info@dynamoregulatorconversions.com or by telephone to +44 (0) 1522 703422 to register your interest. Once I have 10 firm orders, a deposit will be required and I will contact you as such (as you can imagine, the tooling and set up costs for this project are not cheap).

There are very few owners of BSAs on this forum, so it's not surprising that there are no takers.

However, there is an active website for front wheel drive BSAs here:
http://www.bsafwdc.org/
I suggest you get in touch with them.

I’m a member of the BSAFWD club and this post is on their website and in the bulletin. I posted it on here just in case there was anyone who may need one. My own car was fine until one day I spotted a dribble near a stud. A little poking around revealed corrosion in a couple of places. Once the head was off it was also paper thin between a waterway and number 4 combustion chamber. My spare head was in similar condition.

Chemical cleaning and welding proved fruitless as the aluminium was old and contaminated.

A new head was the only way forward, hence my appeal. I now have enough orders and the project is well underway.

Those that have aluminium heads and haven’t ordered a new one might come unstuck in the future but it’s their decision.
