What specification are these gaskets Marcel? I know various models had head gasket problems.

Which gasket are you referring too?
Part numbers etc stamped on gaskets as per photos.
Many of the gaskets in the 30’s were modified to adjust the flow of the water to get more cooling to the hot parts of the engine.

Hi Marcell, is there anybody out there who is producing “New” Head Gaskets for “Our” cars at a reasonable price, I notice that ‘say LA10 / LA11 Head Gaskets are fetching over £100 now , and that does not include Manifold Gaskets etc .
The Gaskets ( Middle picture) are definitely Lanchester 10 (1936 -1444cc) and LA11 1936-1939 .(1444cc)
Cheers Al 😊

I don’t know of anyone producing new ones for less than £100 as they are labour intensive and the tooling is expensive.
I have just ordered some more new old stock Lanchester 11 head gaskets that will cost £87 each.

Hi Marcel, that’s good to hear, I’m very fortunate that I still have a few left, especially after the” Trauma” I had having to strip my engine a number of times , due to Piston problems.
Now it’s been completely reconditioned including new Liners, and a set of the new JP,pistons, she’s going better that ever 👍👍👍

Cheers Al 👍👍

In todays market these prices seem fair , compared to the the price of new marine gaskets they are reasonable , Yanmar 4 cyl 2litre £180 . plus vat . just an example

The good thing is, I’ve actually have about Six in my possession , so don’t think I’m going to be in the “ Market” for one for some time !! 👍👍
